(okay help i need is on psychic skills, i cant find how to advance it)

(okay, you have three skill points as a psychic. One of them must be spent on psychic skills, but you can spend more than that, up to the three you have. A new technique costs the same amount of skill points as the level you need to be able to have it, for example a level 1 technique costs 1 skill point. To advance a skill, including psionics, it is 1+the level you want to get to, so advancing a skill from -1 to 0 is 1 skill point. 0 is not a placeholder rank either, a 0 in a skill represents a basic competence in it. )

(yes , the restriction applies for all skills. A level 2 psychic discipline costs 2 skill points. )

(the skill points section in the middle of the sheet will tell you how many you have and how many have been spent. Now that character creation is over, put how many skill points you have spent on the skill in the "skill points" column of the skills side of your character sheet)

(Id rule that If you'd have to commit effort to power a device needing a type A, you'd have to apply another effort once 10 shots go by to recharge the cell, but otherwise no. Eventually it seems like more core techniques stop requiring you needing to committ effort once they're high enough ) (edited)

(You cannot spend Xp outside of level up. You do not spend XP in stars without number to improve things. At level up, you gain 3 skill points, with a possibility of one extra if you are a partial expert, there are a few different rules in how these skill points are spent depending on your class and character level. ) (edited)

(XP never goes down, and does not reset to 0 after you level, it is all cumulative. if you have 6xp total, you should be leveling up to level 3 now)

(The las lock cannot be purchased , since IA does not have access to it. Does the stalker drone have any fittings on it that you're adding? Personal goals can go on your sheet, there is a box underneath your items section on the main character tab. Normally I review personal goals every couple of weeks and put an XP value, or 0 in there depending on if its a valid goal or not. If you think you've accomplished any personal goals, the player has to let me know, and we'll review it together before the bonus XP gets handed out)

(Great! Btw the Slickware isn't added yet on the dropdown options on the sheet. Listed two new personal goals too, they're pretty general but it is something Enver would definitely want to do. For mission ideas I do have two, either I round/join up a crew to explore/clear the places of interests Thia and the gang found or I start the first steps in achieving my 1st personal goal and look for notable ruin sites)

(I'm going to make a quick edit of the Saliv map with some recently discovered sites by other exploration groups, and from there, any of the remaining yellow areas are unexplored, so we can pick a hex to start in, and I can IC set up a mission. I'll have that posted here shortly)

After a few days of rest and recovery, Enver’s compad pings with an incoming message. The alliance has noticed the good work being done. More responsibility is being offered and more there is work to be done outside of current territories. A grav bike and a ride to an area on the eastern continent have been secured for you, and the Alliance wants to know whats out there. Should you accept your mission, the flight leaves in an hour.

Lounging in his dorm room (IA equivalent of free housing? If it does exist) Enver absentmindedly scrolls his compad about recent news before being startled by the ping and dropping the compad on his face "Ah god dang it" grumbling for a while, he then finally checks the message and smiles widely after reading through it "Finally something to do" accepting the mission he scrambled out of his bed to pack up "Lets see, load the pistol with a new cell, break open the ammo pack to load the shotgun, keep the drone remote on my pocket, remember to bring the drone and done!" After a few minutes of packing, Enver locks up his room and heads over to hangar (assuming that's where the ride is)

The flyer crew is completing pre flight checks as you arrive and it looks as though they’re about done. Although they’ll be staying with the vehicle , you can see each of them is armed and is wearing an Orion pattern breach belt to help keep them safe beyond the range of the resonators. There’s an extra here for you sitting on top of one of the equipment cases.

The flyer spends a few hours passing north from Drem;as before banking east at Hilltop ,and crossing the thin channel of methane sea between you and your destination. The land east of the city, across the sea, starts with a low coastland that is empty of trees and rocks aside from small groves here and there. The ship sets down, allowing you to deploy. The very dense forest known as the Redleaf Grove is beyond. None have ever ventured into these woods post-scream.

Doing a last minute prep and checking the grav bike Enver sees that everything is in order, he gives the crew a nod in thanks and pulls up his dataslab "If somethings bad happen to me, I'll try to send a message so you guys can use it as a distress signal. I also have an agrus web on so whatever happened would be recorded" Saluting to the crew, Enver mounts the grav bike and starts to deploy "Any last minute thing to consider? If not I'm heading out"

They know as much as you do about the area, which amounts to a lot of nothing, so don't have anything to offer you. Scouting the beach ,and scouting the woods look to be the two immediate tasks before you.

Giving the crew a last nod, Enver figures that scouting the beach is his much easier with it being open and all. Mounting the grav bike he heads out towards the beach, remembering to turn on his argus web and keeping his eyes open for potential points of interest.

Some people just don't like it so we just also have the dice channel) Heading south along the coast from the drop off point you drive for a few moments before finding the first of the animal tracks in the sand. They emerge from the sea, heading east inland towards the distant woods. There are at least ten distinct sets of prints here.

Enver stops the bike as he inspects the tracks, taking great note of how it comes from the sea. Gulping, he relays the discovery "Enver's log 1. Here at the shore of Redleaf Grove, after a few distances from the deploy point I discovered animal tracks, counting more than ten varieties, more concerning is it all came from the sea. Log end." Grumbling and sighing, Enver tries to discern from the tracks if he can assume at least one of the size of the creature who made them. (like if one of the track is familiar or like 3 foot in size)

Quickly checking the Alliances' database, Enver fortunately finds a match on the tracks. "Well that's a relief, at least they're not too unknown" He grumbles before scanning the shores one last time (no more noticeable point of interest present?) and looking towards the woods. "Guess I'll to try scout using the drone if I find some place relatively safe"

(Nesting birds was what we rolled for this area. There is a neutral faction looking for more information about animals- so that is one possible avenue to follow, but its not a requirement. If neither of those things sound good, we can explore the woods)

(Oh I can pursue the tracks? I thought the birds would just be a random encounter later on. Well since Enver can actually track the birds let's try to observe them.) Enver finding a relatively safe and clean space on the shores starts to set up his drone "Tracking a large flightless bird seems like the best way to field test this" (actually, can Enver see a real time footage from the drone?)

(Yes, you can have real time footage from the drone, you don't have any skill in program though so it can't be flown. You'd need to follow on foot and try something that way) (edited)

The tracks lead toward the woods and are easy to follow from the sandy beach, but upon reaching the woods the tracks seem to meander through the dark woods in many different directions. There is evidence that the pack scattered here, and that something may have harmed one of them based on the feathers and blood left behind, but you do not see any other clues here.

Enver pause at the sight of blood and feathers. "Enver's Log 2. Followed the tracks, surprisingly they're a bunch of Metanovy Vtak birds. At the end of the track the herd seemed to encountered a hostile, whether its their predator or termie is unknown. Log End." Sighing, Enver grabs a feather and keeps its safely in his pack so it can be analyzed back home. "Now do I follow a random track or do I let this go. Hmmmmm." Grumbling, he sets out for a track heading towards the left side of the woods. "Left is always right as they say"

You follow the tracks for half an hour, realizing that they actually belong to two birds. Their walking single file to hide their numbers isnew information that the conservation society might think is interesting. Two of the birds are drinking from a spring ahead, grooming themselves and otherwise doing what they can to wash off the blood of a fallen flock mate

Enver keeps his steps silent as he follow along the tracks, pausing momentarily at discovering it actually belonged to two birds. 'These birds are quite smart' he thinks while watching the pair cleaning blood from themselves. 'Now what' he thinks while still watching the birds 'I don't have anything to catch this birds, guess I'll record this for a while and move on?' nodding to himself, he follows his plan for a while then leaves the birds, heading westward again (edited)

The birds groom their feathers and after an hour several of the most methane soaked ones from the sea are pulled off and left behind , as are flakes of the dead skin underneath. Those who are very old or very young get help from other members of the pack

Enver, recording and noting everything about the two birds for an hour finally looks at his dataslab and sighs. 'Nothing else here for now and I'm burning daylight'. Silently trekking to the west once more, he gives the birds a longing look especially the the feathers and deadskin that would be useful to bring back. 'Glad I already took one earlier, might even show what spooked them if that got stuck in the bloodied feather' thanking whoever is up there for small mercies, Enver turns his back from the birds and moves away (edited)

Heading east inland you move on from the spring and into the darker parts of the forest. There are monsters here if the legends told behind the walls of Dremlas are to be believed, and even worse, packs of terminal Humans and Mosks that hunt them. Your senses are on alert as you travel into the region, and as mid day sun rises into the highest part of the sky, you see the ruins of a distant windmill on top of a nearby overlooking hill.

Enver gulping as he finally sees the main thing he's searching in this place. 'Finally a ruin!' he thinks before pausing and grimacing 'That's alot of open space to cover, I'm so exposed' he sighs and tries to figure out a safe to traverse "Enver's Log #3. Good news: found a ruin of a windmill, Bad news: its on top of a overlooking hill, going there means trekking up while being exposed and I don't really wanna know if the Legends are true, Wish me Luck. Enver out." Taking a deep breathe, Enver trudges towards the end of the treeline just before the bottom of the hill and tries to see if they can find something of note now that they are nearer before trekking up

You do not notice anything new at the base of the foothill. The windmill looks abandoned and there doesn't seem to be a way to avoid approaching it while remaining concealed for the entire climb

As Enver muse and stall for time, a metaphorical light bulb appears above his head "God dangit, how could I forget I have this, I'm even wearing it now" grumbling at his short term memory, Enver finally notices that's he's wearing the Butterfly harnes and it has a freakk short distance jump feature "Time to blitz up the hill then"

The short anti-grav wings of the harness extend into their butterfly like cross pattern. A gentle hum lets you know that the harness is powered up and you are able to push yourself off rocks and exposed pieces of clear ground to bound up the hill rapidly. You arrive at the base of the structure. The windmill is crumbling. Its canvas sail cloths catch little bits of breeze here and there but the mechanism inside the windmill must be fouled. There are wires trailing down from the base of the windmill crank to inside the building. This place would have generated its own power once as it caught the wind. There are signs of recent inhabitation here, but whatever it was has not been around in a few weeks.

Enver scans the base of the windmill taking in the view before starting another log. "Enver's Log #4. Safely have reached the windmill, with an initial scan of the place it looks like this had been used as a home recently. Inhabitants seems to have vacated the place, entering to find out why. Enver Out" remembering the can traps from before Enver carefully checks the entrance for any indication of traps rigged onto it

The main door of the windmill is around the back, opposite the hillside you climbed to get here. There is no sign of traps in the doorframe of the building. You cannot see much of the inside aside from plank flooring, rotted scraps of left behind burlap flour bags, and the hopper where the goods the millstones above ground were deposited. It is empty now aside from some left behind flour dust from long lost batches.

Assuming that it's relatively safe, Enver carefully enters the main door, taking good care of his actions to potentially not bring down a part of the structure "Hope this is really empty"

This windmill was used for mundane purposes and upon entering the building you can see that it has been inhabited within the last year. There is no one here now and the people who were sheltering here have been gone for at least a few months. The milling machinery was being used both to process food and as a jury rigged power generator. Lights are running inside the building from what has been stored in an array of batteries. Simple wooden stairs lead up to the darker second floor of the building.

(I am back!) As Enver see the array of batteries and the milling machine generator he focuses on his psi, activating Energy Sensitivity to sense power that isn't in the open and starts to head upwards if none are present

All that you sense in this building is the battery array slowly being trickle charged by the turning of the windmill, the lights are dim and do not require a large amount of power. The windmill will need to be repaired for the site to produce more. Moving upstairs you find the machinery that makes the windmill spin. It is in poor repair and several components would need to be replaced for the windmill to work properly again. A sleeping area had been set up here and looks to be abandoned. The sleeping rolls are manfactured and not something made from skins and stuffling like terminals use. There was an organized human presence here once but they look to have abandoned the site. You find a few small notes, a stuffed animal, and some tools scattered among what was left behind. People turned into Terminals by the breaches commonly don;t use things like this, so you can be assured again that survivors once lived here. The site could be repaired and used to generate power again, and has the halmarks of a good workshop for future IA use.

(If you want it for yourself as a sanctum that is one set of rules , if you do not, the polity could restore it for their own purposes and I'd drop something in the IA server letting you folks know what to do. So make that choice, and then I can let you know how this should work)

Slickware Cyberware- 5,000 credits, 3 strain, TL4 cyberware, allows passive training of a skill or skills where downtime would otherwise not be possible once appropriate training modules are found. Must be switched off to regain health and system strain when sleeping. (Can train one of the unlocked skills or heal lost hit points and recover accrued system strain) Current slickware modules are program, perform, pilot, work, and heal.

(Yes, but from what I read in SWN, downtime only occurs in Ships? So I don't know how to use that passive training)

(There are other ways to get downtime such as while traveling overland and letting it run at night instead of healing and recovering system strain, sometimes while off world and needing to wait for messages to travel back and forth several days or weeks can also pass while you're communicating with allies or the polity for instructions, and this would give you an opportunity to use it, and so on) (edited)

(I see I see. I guess I need a longer mission for it, maybe next time then? My next idea for an adventure is either for money gathering or looking for more windmills since windmills do tend to be a collective rather than singular. I'm quite leaning on the latter idea ngl)

(It would certainly help. If you decide to build one let me know and I'll send you a copy of the omnibuilder, as the bikes also can have fittings that give it some helpful abilities like more power, or extra armor)

(No, there is not. SWN determines cargo space based on the number of free mass points on the vehicle. It is a certain number of kilos per mass point. The number changes depending on the type of vehicle, small, medium, or large. Having a cargo space fitting is sort of a redundancy given how this system determines cargo space) (edited)

THe windmills are secured and look like they'll be a safe base of operations for you in the future. The countryside around them is also quiet from what you have been able to tell. Both the terminal packs and the settlers that used to live here are long gone. The Alliance is invested not just on this world, but on many worlds, and there are all manner of missions out there that would pay well, allowing you to return home and fix up your new sanctuary.

In this fine day, Enver can be found lounging at one of IA's many garages him tending to his new ride. "Hmm I still need to name this. Maybe something old school?" They muse, idly shifting to the data in his datapad, sending legal paperworks for his ride while also checking out mission with decent payout to fix up his future sanctuary.

Reviewing Alliance job boards and prioriity dispatches it looks as though exploration efforts on the northern continent are the most important series of operations the authorities in Dremlas have planned for the moment. One of the cities on the eastern coast of the northern continent is something they would like you to explore. Finding more lost survivors, or knowledge of what happened to pre-scream settlements across the planet's surface is of critical importance to the Alliance, as the current administration has pledged to have the homeworld secured by the end of their term in December. A flight capable of storing both you and your motorbike meets you outside your windmill sanctuary for the long flight north across the methane ocean to your destination. The landing zone is 10km from the city site. With the cloud cover the flyer is unable to see the conditions in that area, but you are deposited onto a sweeping plain of broad green and blue grasses, puncutated with wildflowers that grow in the summer Saliv sun. You are issued an orion belt to keep on your vehicle, and so long as you are near your bike you will be safe from the metaspace breaches in the area- as you are operating far beyond the range of resonator devices. The animals that lived on this plain have scattered for the moment,startled by the downdraft of the transport plane's engines. Herds this close to the city lets you know that they are not hunted - at least this distance from the site of possible civilization.

Touching down on the landing zone Enver takes a moment to check if the fittings on his bike is in order, satisfied with that he turns his gaze to the surroundings "Hmmm, quite a peaceful place" Touching his recorder, he starts a log once again "Enver's Log #5: Scouting Abondon Cities #1. Touchdown 10km from the city site, current area is quite peaceful and wildlife is present. Initial Assumptions: Area has been untouched by hostile and non-local entities, will update when situation changes. Enver Out." Sighing in relief at having a peaceful mission start Enver boards his bike and gives the ship crew a goodbye wave. Revving his bike, Enver plots his course towards 5km from the city site "Let's start with the mid point" he idly muses, watching the surroundings pass by (edited)

Five kilometers from the city you find yourself in a lowland, with hills obscuring your view of the distant city. The slope up to their rounded tops is gentle and the bike allows you to travel up the inclines quickly and without tiring yourself out. You've seen no signs of terminals in the area, and this close to the city, that seems to be a good sign. Biking to the top of the hills, you can see the city looks abandoned. There are no signs of terminal inhabitation, btut here are also no signs of people that you can make out from this distance. The city is sprawling, and you can't confirm much of anything in detail from five kilometers away,

The slope up to their rounded tops is gentle and the bike allows you to travel up the inclines quickly and without tiring yourself out. You've seen no signs of terminals in the area, and this close to the abandoned structures, that seems to be a good sign. You can't tell if locals who have somehow been protected from breach exposure have made a home here either. There is no signs of inhabitation by anyone.

Receiving a message detailing that the city site is already tended by another IA member, Enver decides to change course and travel a bit more to the west and finds himself in a lowland. "Enver's Log #5: Name amended to Scouting Ruins #1. Due to circumstances, mission has changed and city site is no longer priority. Travelling further from the previous site of interest, I have found myself in a lowland overlooking hills with a series of abondoned structures, will investigate. Enver Out." Revving the Bike once, Enver plots the Driver AI to go for a slow climb towards the science building. Enver making sure the trip is as quiet as he can make it to be.

You do not notice anything out of the ordinary as you arrive at the science building doors. It is a simple entry door. It was once protected by a keycard swipe but the keypad has been ripped out. The door has also been bumped from its hinges,and just hangs from them now neither open nor closed, but hanging in between. Emergency lights are on inside the building, and there is a smell of ozone in the air. Looking inside as much as you're able from here, you see this was once a reception area where the people that lived and worked in this building checked in before being let into the secure lab spaces beyond.
